“Hey, if you wouldn’t mind, would you remember this in prayer?” “Would you add me to your prayer list?”
Friend, if you’re a Christian, I can absolutely guarantee someone has asked you to bring one of their prayer requests to the Father when you meet Him in prayer. And asking others to help you pray about a situation is not a bad thing at all. In fact, Galatians 6:2 tells us to bear one another’s burdens. And yes, that means carrying those burdens to the Lord in prayer.
Has anyone else wholeheartedly agreed to lift a request up in prayer, but… forgot?
Oh, come on, now, I can’t be the only one, right?
Yeah, I didn’t think so.
Prayer is Vital
Friend, I am learning that when someone asks you to pray for someone or a situation, it is best to just go right ahead and pray then and there. Jesus is never, ever too busy to hear our prayers, even if they are short and sweet. By stopping to pray right then and there, we can be sure that we did not forget to pray about the situation. Because, friend, let me tell you, it’s not a good feeling to be reminded about a situation you forgot to pray for…
But, friend, I also realize that sometimes it is hard to just stop and pray for requests, especially if those requests require a little more time in prayer than others.
So, what’s my solution to remembering to pray for requests that need to be talked over and discussed a little more with the Lord?
Write Down Your Prayer List
Yep, you guessed it, writing down a list of prayer requests to bring to the Father later. That way, when you meet the Lord in prayer at your regular, set aside time, BOOM, there’s your list.
It’s a simple, but effective idea, really. I mean, I can’t be the only one that forgets things if she doesn’t write it down, right? If you’re one of those people, you can get your free prayer list printable right here! This prayer list printable is the size of a note card, perfect for keeping in your purse, your pocket (just don’t accidentally wash it!), or your Bible.
