Prayer: What to Do When Something Important is Lost…

Prayer.

It’s a pretty powerful thing, y’all.  Prayer is our direct line of communication with our Heavenly Father.  We can take all of our needs and requests to Him in prayer.  And, sometimes, if we listen hard enough, we can hear the Father speaking back to us during our prayer time, too.

But, do you know what else is really great about prayer?

Well, two things, actually.

  1. According to 1 John 5:14-15, if we ask anything of the Father according to His will, we can be confident that He hears us.
  2. Answers and solutions come when we pray.

Have you ever lost something extremely important?  And no matter where you look, you just can’t seem to find that super important thing?

Numbers 22: What We Can Learn from Balaam

The Word of God is a wonderful thing, y’all.  And thank goodness we have a whole Bible full of God’s word to help us understand and overcome situations that may arise as we journey through life. (Like Numbers 22, for example!)  And sometimes (okay, all the time), the Word of God is confirmation to something we already know to be true.

If you’ve been reading my blog since the start, you’ll know that following God’s calling for your life is something that has been on my heart lately– mostly because I ran from the call of blogging for quite some time.  You can check out the post about that here.  But, it’s also been on my heart lately, because following what the Lord has called me to do is one of the most important ways to spread the light and show others a path out of the darkness.  Actually, when you do decide to follow the call, whether you realize it or not, you’re setting a blaze and, believe me, it does not go unnoticed.

Dear Christian Single: An Open Letter

Dear Christian Single,

I see you there stuck in despair.

Friend, I see your frustrated with everything that comes along with the single season.

And, I hear you patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) questioning God when it will be your turn.

I see you wondering if any other young people hold standards and morals as high as you do.  One quick look around makes it seem as if you’re the only one left.  A second look around leaves you without hope.

Don’t be discouraged + Free Printable

Discouraged.

Have you ever been discouraged about a situation in your life?

I have.  And, friend, let me tell you.  Discouragement is one of these worst feelings in the world you will ever experience.  Maybe not the worst.  But, it’s up there.  Pretty close to ‘hangry’, actually.  Kidding.

Joking aside, the enemy of our soul loves for us to become discouraged.  When we become discouraged, we’re disheartened.  We lack enthusiasm.  And we lose hope.

Feeling down and out?

You see, friend, discouragement is one of those tools the Devil has in his bag of tricks that he uses to make us lose focus on things above.  The Devil paints us such a menacing picture of our situation never changing, that we lost hope in the One that holds the future and we lose hope of a brighter day.
