The Blogger Behind the Blog

So, friend.  Today is my birthday.  I’ve thought for a while about what I’ve wanted to do for today’s post.  And then I realized… maybe you don’t actually know me?  So, for today’s post, you’ll be meeting the blogger behind the blog: me!

If you remember, last year about this time I ran through a whole list of 25 lessons I’ve learned within the last 25 years.  This year, was absolutely no different.  There were tons of lessons learned, like letting go and giving God complete control.

This year, though, for my birthday, I want to get a little more personal.  Because, I realized, maybe some of you, dear readers, don’t actually know me.  I mean, I feel like you get a decent idea who I am through this blog and through my about page.  But, maybe you’re curious about other stuff.  I don’t know.

Taking a Leap of Faith

Friends, I’m taking a leap of faith here.

I want to share a little something with you.  And it may answer your question as to why I’ve started this blog… and rejoined Facebook.

As you may well know, I have been off of Facebook for a couple of years now.  I took a break from social media (Okay, not Twitter.  I like Twitter.) because I began to feel overwhelmed by the many, many details shared on my Facebook news feed.  The feeling of losing a personal connection with my friends was gigantic.  I no longer had the opportunity to be surprised when I saw a friend out and about and they told me their exciting news.  All I could respond with was “Oh, yeah, I saw that on Facebook”, and that was the end of that.  There were many, many reasons I left Facebook, not just the reason of feeling like I had lost real connections.  Trying to explain them all would take days.
