Today’s post features a giveaway courtesy of FrontGate Media! You could win a copy of Always Enough – Never Too Much by Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan. Keep reading to the bottom to find out the details!
Honesty hour: Sometimes I might kind of start to believe the Devil when he keeps telling me I’m just not good enough.
I’d bet a dollar, if I were the betting kind, you’ve heard those lies and felt the weight of those feelings, too.
You’re not good enough. You’re not compassionate enough. Not driven enough. Not kind enough.
You get the picture.
But, I’d almost bet, too, you’ve heard and felt the opposite of that spectrum: the too much.
You’re too loud. You’re wayyyy too honest. Too much of a crier. Asking God for way too much.
We’ve all been there
If we’re all being honest here (I sincerely hope it’s not just me participating in Honesty Hour), we’ve all felt like we’ve been too much or not enough at times. Or, maybe felt both of those feelings at the same time.
I tell ya, friend, if you were to talk to me last week about the things that were gnawing away at my peace, I probably would’ve held you hostage for an hour talking about my struggles.
Last week, I fell 90% into the “not enough” category. And the remaining 10%? Yep, the “too much.”
We’ll save the whys of that for a later post. But, it was one of those tricks the enemy sends that came in waves. You know how it is, right? You feel less than adequate in this area of your life. And then the next thing you know, you’re feeling super less than about another situation. Then you start to feel like you’ve prayed the same prayer too much and God is tired of hearing it. Pretty soon, everything is just… awful, frustrating, and you’re ready to give it all up.

Truthfully, that’s what Satan wants. He wants you to quit or fall in your walk with Christ. I admit, he plays a pretty good game. But, be stronger than that and keep walking.
God is ever so faithful to help you in your time of need, just like He did for me last week.
Help when you need it
Like I said, God is so faithful and knows what you need when you need it. Just when I needed it the most, a copy of Always Enough – Never Too Much by Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan showed up in my mailbox.
Now, if you’ve been sticking around for a while, you know I love happy mail. A good mail day can lift my mood faster than anything. (Seriously, I’m the one that will give extra stars to Amazon sellers simply for writing me a handwritten note on the invoice. That’s how much I like personal mail.) But, this particular day, I wasn’t expecting anything at all. And had actually forgotten I was supposed to be reviewing this book.
Always Enough – Never Too Much is a collection of 50 devotions to encourage you to quit comparing, stop hiding, and start living Wild and Free. Jess Connolly and Hayley Morgan, authors of Wild and Free, teamed up again to write this devotion that’s packed full of personal stories to encourage you in your walk with Christ.
Hayley knows what it’s like to live in the “never enough” shadow. And Jess knows what it’s like to feel as if you’re too much. These devotions are written to address different situations where the enemy of our souls makes us feel less than enough or makes us feel like we’ve crossed the line… again.
Always Enough – Never Too Much
Feeling like you’re too bold when you’re excited and talking about the things of the Lord? Flip over to “Even When You’re Bold About God” and read why your abundance of excitement is a good thing. (Hint: your excitement is like a fire. And it only takes a spark to light a whole blaze, ya know.)
And then, if there’s ever a day when you don’t feel “Christian enough” because you’re struggling with something and your life isn’t together like you think it should be (spoiler: It’s A-okay not to have it all together!), flip the book over and read the section “Even When You Don’t Feel Like A Church Gal.”
Literally. Pick. The. Book. Up. And. Flip. The. Book. Over.
One of the neat things about this book is that it’s a flip book. One side of the book deals with the Always Enough. Once you flip the book completely over, it’s the Never Too Much side. You’ve got devotions coming and going!
I’ve really enjoyed this devotion– probably because the encouragement found in it was something my heart needed. If you’re truly walking in the light and living for the Lord, you’re always, always, ALWAYS enough. And you’re never, ever too much.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made for a purpose, don’t let the world rob you of your joy!
Friend, it’s been hard not to just read every single devotion in this book in one sitting. Devotions of these kind, I kind of like to wait until the situation applies before I read it. But this one is just that good!
I know you’ll find some good stuff in it, too. So, be sure to click this link to enter! Winners will be chosen on 7/25/2018. Shout out to the good people at FrontGate Media for sponsoring the Giveaway!
