Ugh. It’s been a tough week, y’all.
That’s the only word I can use to describe my week. Just. Ugh.
You know the saying, “when it rains, it pours”? Pretty sure it’s been monsoon-ing over in my world.
And you also know that popular phrase the weathermen like to use to encourage us, the viewers, not to pass over a flooded road? You know, “turn around, don’t drown?”
Nope, driving the struggle bus straight through it.
Friend, no need to worry about me. It’s just been one of those weeks where everything that could be an issue has decided to be one. I’m sure you’ve had a week like that, too. They’re pretty common, actually. And I’m positive that there are eight or nine funny gifs I could put right here to hilariously describe my week. Gifs seem to make everything better. Even the irritating days.
Do you know what’s even better than a funny gif, though?
Scripture that we can stand upon during the rainy seasons of life. Now, friend, like I said a couple of posts ago, rain is a good thing. It draws us closer to God and helps us to appreciate the times the sun is shining and appreciate the times when we have a few needed moments of rest from the storms life blows in.
But, when we are weathering a storm, we can open up God’s Holy Word and use His promises as an umbrella to keep us from getting too terribly wet.
Here are thirteen verses to help you weather even the toughest of life’s storms:
It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. Psalm 18:32

Our soul waiteth for the Lord: he is our help. Psalm 33:20
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world, ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Create in me a clean heart, O God: and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Psalm 28:8
I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 2 Samuel 22:4
The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. Psalm 29:11
Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: Isaiah 26:4
Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Psalm 119:114
What scriptures do you lean on during the tough times? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!

These are all great. I need to make a wall of these somewhere. I also like Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 is also a great one! That’s such a good idea to make a wall of these scriptures! I’ve been trying to find a small-ish bulletin board to put in my room for this reason!
